The Classic Legacy Band is pleased to announce we will be hosting a Pre-Solo Ensemble work shop on Saturday January 25th, 2020. This work shop will be free of charge and will be hosted by the music program at Valley Lutheran High School. This event will give students an opportunity to perform for a panel of musicians who will offer constructive evaluation of each performance. Upon completion of the student’s music selection, they will then receive a 10-15 minute clinic with one of our clinicians helping students focus on their final preparation for Solo-Ensemble. Our panel of clinicians will be led by Legacy Band Conductor David Fitts a long time MSBOA Adjudicator.
At the end of the day, three students will be awarded scholarships of $100, $75 and $50 to be used toward advancing their music education. The top soloist will be invited to perform their solo with their accompanist as a featured soloist on the band’s Spring Concert at Saginaw Valley University.
We hope this clinic will give students a chance to refine their performances further and become familiar with the Classic Legacy Band Family, a band of music enthusiastscommitted to the performance of quality literature with a focus on transcriptions.
Attached is an application form. Once received, students will be scheduled into 20 minute blocks. MSBOA timing rules are in effect and the remaining time will be a mini clinic. Students will receive their comment sheets at the completion of their clinic.
Sincerely,
David William Fitts, Music Director
Todd Schwannecke, President
